My name in the SCA is Nichola Beese, and I live in the Debatable Lands in the Kingdom of Æthelmearc. In other words, Pittsburgh.
I am a dabbler. I sing, illuminate, calligraph, make parchment, taw but don't tan, draft patterns, sew, read far too much religious history, make pysanky, paint icons, merchant, make medallions, concoct ink, compound paint, have thoughts on material culture now versus the medieval ages.

My persona is a late-15th-century Yorkshire widow. I live with my children, my brother, and my lady companion, Dominique von Weissenthurn, on the estates technically now owned by my oldest son. Our family's income derives from the sheep kept on our lands and our participation in England's thriving wool trade. We are Yorkists. Obviously. I mean, really.
